Along with the targeted writing exercises, Scott will lead class discussion and share the unfiltered, compassionate insights to which his many readers and listeners have become accustomed.
David Gandelman is the founder of GroundedMind host of the Energy Matters Podcast, and teaches meditation at Cornell University.
When David was 16 he had a radical spiritual awakening and began meditation deeply. He went on to study a variety of spiritual traditions from the Himalayas to Hawaii, where he served as the director of an intuitive healing center.
With over 10 years of teaching experience David has cultivated a program where he connects energy awareness, ancient wisdom traditions, and humor to create a safe atmosphere for learning meditation.
At the core of David's teaching is the idea that in order to live a happy and fulfilled life, it's important to have a sense of humor with our situations on Earth, and let go of the energy and attachments that keep us lost in expectation instead of grounding into reality.
Check in is at 3:00-4:00pm Sunday July 12th and ends at 12:30pm Saturday July 18th.

For the past few years, there is one voice I’ve turned to more than just about any other for comfort, for inspiration, for feeling understood, for feeling like I can, for feeling never ever *ever* alone: Scott Stabile. As a longtime part of Scott's amazing Facebook community, I've seen day in and day out that he is among the most real, honest, wise and inspirational souls around -- right up there with the likes Elizabeth Gilbert, Glennon Doyle, Brené Brown, and Cheryl Strayed -- and I couldn't wait to get his book "BIG LOVE" when it was released. Scott does not disappoint. His signature humor, care and wisdom leap out of each personal essay in the book, and every chapter inspired me to think about my own life in a different way, from a place of greater love. If you, like me -- no, like most of us -- have struggled through pain, grief, conflict, self-doubt or judgment, then this book is for you. Scott's words and insights are a salve for even the rawest of wounds, and the understanding gained from his own experiences give us a blueprint for navigating this crazy thing called life. See for yourself.

I've long admired Scott Stabile's message inspiring us to be our authentic selves in authentic ways. 'Big Love: The Power of Living with a Wide-Open Heart' helped me reach a new level of honesty with myself. Reading about such pivotal moments of Scott's life and how each one changed and molded him makes me determined to reveal the more vulnerable parts of myself and re-commit myself to keeping love and kindness as priorities in my day to day life. Living in this way is an intricate, ever-evolving skill, hard won from many life experiences, as Scott shows us with his willingness to reveal his humanness and real inner dialogue. I'm so grateful for his decision to shift from posting all upbeat, positive messages on his Facebook page to being open and real about his day to day struggles, imperfections, heartbreaks, breakdowns, and breakthroughs. Each of the 18 essays in 'Big Love' resonated with me deeply. Stabile's dialogue really opened my eyes to new possibilities of forgiveness and acceptance of myself and others. I find this book to be a powerful reminder of what can happen we commit ourselves to being loving and keeping our hearts open. Scott's writing is accessible, authentic, and engaging. I want to read more!

I opened "Big Love" today intending to read one chapter, maybe two, with my morning coffee. Six chapters later, I was entranced, so grateful, and happily late for work. "Big Love" addresses our biggest and most powerful experiences as human beings -- love, loss, forgiveness, healing, and the capacity for change -- with humor, tenderness, authenticity, and hard-won insight. It makes you laugh and it makes you think. It reminds you to be kind to yourself and honest with yourself. I felt like Scott Stabile was sitting with me and telling me his beautiful story as I drank my coffee this morning. "Big Love" inspires me to bring more compassion, clarity, and love to my own life. This book is a gem.

This book is an amazing treasure trove of helping one feel connected and accepted. While reading "Big Love" it seemed as though Scott and I were sitting down, chatting over some good "tea"--the kinda tea we all deserve to treat ourselves to.
He has this realistic grasp of the inner-doings, and goings-on of our self-talk, and somehow helps one feel like it's all okay, no matter what any of has been through or chosen in the past as reactions! There's Hope And Love in all of it! we still can choose Love at any given moment. So reassuring, so inviting to just be "Us."
I loved his informative, yet chocked full of raw, real-emotions-shared-at face-value, writing style.
Thanks so much for this book, for writing it, for creating it, & for allowing Love in the Biggest Way to shine thru as the TAKE-AWAY.

David Gandelman’s Grounded Mind Program has made learning to meditate easy and accessible. Honestly, I can’t believe how quickly I was able to see progress – in my ability to calm my brain as well as my ability to handle stress. I have become a meditator after only four months of this one year program, and I look forward to my next meditation each week.

As a beginner I feel so comfortable with these meditations. Step by step you learn new tools. I’m not intimidated but definitely challenged. Never thought I’d enjoy sitting still so much.
