Meditation, Nature & Culture

April 11th - 16th, 2023

What does it mean to be happy? Have you had tastes of happiness and then found it unsustainable? Or maybe it’s felt just out of reach for some reason? Have you been feeling stuck or overwhelmed? Maybe you’ve heard yourself saying, “I just wish I could quiet the incessant thinking of my mind?” The ideas we have about what happiness should be may be the trap.

Step into the land of happiness with us, break the cycle and freshen up your zest for life. We’ll tap into our hearts, find our inner stillness and awaken our connections to what is infinite within: happiness, fulfillment and creativity. We’re pairing the beauty of this carbon-negative land of national parks and mountains with transformative tools for creating routines of happiness including meditations, breathing practices, yoga and practical wisdom.

A retreat for the spiritually curious and more experienced practitioners alike, every day will include practices for well-being and happiness. We will have a morning ritual with purifying breathwork, meditation and reflection. Our days will be filled with cultural and historical sites including visits across the country to more than ten monuments, temples and monasteries, some dating as far back as the 7th Century.

Another joy of the Kingdom is the picturesque Tiger’s Nest, we will have a short hike to this monastery that hangs precariously and magically at the edge of a cliff.

Bhutan is a country where natives live by traditions and values. A primarily Buddhist country, kindness to guests is palpable in a passing smile or a warm welcome for ginger tea. As such, care for the environment and people are priorities in the Kingdom. Bhutan protects its natural environment, over 70% of the country is sprawling national parks where we experience biodiversity of unique flora, fauna, birds and animals. Unlike any other country, Bhutan measures prosperity by the index of Gross National Happiness – every decision is carefully weighted for the benefit of its people, including their “high value, low tourism” policy, which ensures that tours are pre-certified with the government. Among much else, you’ll love breathing the air here, Bhutan is the only country in the world to be carbon-negative! There’s no better place to learn, practice and cultivate the tenants of inner-happiness than in this beautiful country.
